Poll: What Type of Circ Do You Have?

Postby Deadheart » Wed Mar 16, 2016 7:47 pm

If you want, feel free to explain what you like about yours, or how you imagine other types would feel in comparison. I personally think high & tight is the best, both in looks and feel.

Give the choice I would have chosen a medium high medium tight Gomco circ.

I didn't really have a choice though and when i had my circ the internet wasn't all that widespread so I didn't know anything other than that the surgeon was going to remove my foreskin. I wound up with a high very loose job which wouldn't have bothered me at all except the cosmetic result wasn't good. And because I'm a grower and not so much a shower, when I was soft the loose innner foreskin would bunch behind the head of my dick and fill with fluid. I had a revision and the urologist who did that suggested the only way to overcome the problem was to remove as much of the inner skin as possible, so now I have a low and reasonably loose job.

I'm still happy to be cut - very - but if I had the chance to do it over again I would have been very specific pre surgery.

Yikes, I would hate to have a revision but I'm glad it worked out for you. I made it a very important point to let the urologist know the cosmetic result was important to me and that I didn't want it done freehand.

Its interesting that when I had foreskin I didn't care much for stroking the shaft and rather focusing on the tip, but being circumcised with inner skin exposed I like stroking the shaft much more now. If there is a silver lining to being cut low, I would say that it generally looks neater and more concealed with the scar closer to the glans. Looks more natural with one skin tone, vs the two-toned thing many guys have. Its all preference.

I honestly had no idea about it at the time other than I was going to get my foreskin removed. And to be perfectly honest, were the internet not the font of all knowledge that it is and that we are exposed to, I probably still wouldn't know that there were different types of circumcision.

I've written about 2 girls I was with who had a preference for circumcised men and who brought this preference into play in our sexual experiences. In all my sexual history (ok - that makes it sounds a lot more pornstar like than it is!), these were the only 2 who really strongly voiced an opinion.

Other women I've been with (and I brought circumcision up with all my partners) have either expressed a preference for it or said they didn't care. Of those who expressed a preference, none of them (other than Pauliine, the Finnish police cadet) seemed to have any idea about their previous partners' dicks, other than that they were circumcised. I'd asked them if they noticed the scar or of they could play with the skin a bit, and they just didn't know. I think it's the rare woman who pays that much attention to the fine details of circumcision.

My revision happened after the internet became common, so I had a lot more of an idea about what I wanted, but sadly, it didn't seem to be possible. I had met some godawful doctors - unfriendly, God complex types - and the guy I went with to do my revision was just a very nice man. I liked him and I trusted him and it seemed from what he said that removing most of my inner foreskin would solve my problems, so that was my choice. I could have probably kept shopping around until I found someone who would have preserved a bit more and given me a higher cut, but I was sick of spending money, sick of meeting asshole doctors and dropping my pants for them...I just wanted it done and finished.

I can't do anything about it now. I am in no way at all unhappy to be circumcised, I just would have preferred a different outcome. My revision only hurt once - when I was recovering and tried to remove a stitch that wasn't ready to come out yet. Other than that I felt no discomfort at all. I was back in the gym 2 days later!

I got a low and tight circumcision. Visually, I love the result: it is like I was "naturally" circumcised since the scar is almost hidden by the ridge of the glans. On the bottom part, the surgeon kept more inner skin (c. 1 cm) and managed to elongate my frenulum. I don't know exactly what he did but this whole area feels like a G-spot now and I thank him for that. If I had to redo it, I could also go for the high version to have a more apparent scar screaming "hey, I was circumcised". :) But this is no big deal.

The tight part is great too. My glans is fully and permanently exposed without wrinkles on my shaft even by -20 °C. When soft, I can barely reach the corona of my glans. When hard or semi-hard, nothing moves. This feeling of tightness is great.

I was circumcised due to phimosis about a decade ago. The best description I can give of it is that I have a partial circumcision- when I am soft I look like I have a short foreskin and my glans is about 40-60 percent covered. Besides being disappointed with the aesthetics of my results, I am also not sure that is completely solved my problem. My inner foreskin region still gets easily irritated and sore after sex. Hygienically, it isn't much different than before save the ability to retract in hard or soft conditions. So I have been giving consideration to, and working up the courage for, getting a circumcision revision. Right now, I am thinking that I would prefer to lose most of the inner foreskin and make sure that my glans is completely uncovered all of the time.

What was it like going from a high and loose to a low and tight? I am looking into a revision and am trying to decide on how much (if any) of the inner skin to keep.

My revision coincided with the internet suddenly becoming omnipresent - so my feelings about my revision are a little hard to put clearly in words as so much is mixed up with the messages I received at the time.

I wouldn't have really given it a second thought but for the fact the the 'high and tight' style seemed to be (at the time) being pushed by a certain corner of the pro-circumcision online community. And as a younger person with not a lot experience, you just kind of look at the pictures and read the narratives and think "Yeah - that's actually a better looking result than the lower circ style". It's still hard for me to tell how I really feel. I'm sure these messages formed my opinions but had I not seen them I wouldn't have given it a second thought. And I do think it's something we enthusiasts focus a little too much on at times. I honestly don't think most women would even notice a high or low circ. or pay much attention to this detail if they did.

So I was a little worried when my urologist said the only way to deal with my problem was to remove all the inner skin and place the scar right up against my corona. He assured me there'd be no loss of sensitivity but the pictures that I'd seen just didn't sit with what I'd developed in my own mind as the image of how my circ should look.

In the end he left me a little cuff of inner skin and like I said before - it's fine. I would have preferred something a bit higher but I'm still happy to be done.

Other than that, there's not much difference. Masturbation without lube was easier before but no more or less pleasurable.

For sensitivity, keep the inner skin with a high and tight. For aesthetics, lose the frenulum. The combination looks great and seems popular with the ladies!

I would go for the high and tight, but doesn't that depend on how much foreskin and how big your dick is? Like for someone who is erect at like 5 inches the scar would be at the halfway mark of the shaft I would think? I mean in my case that wouldn't be a problem. I'm curious though if the head swells or not? Like right now when I'm erect it gets pretty "swollen", so I could imagine if that would happen.

I found this pretty interesting too. Didn't know there was a "normal" style.

^ I think by default most urologists/surgeons do a "low" circumcision because its apparently the easiest for them to perform and most likely the way they were trained to do it. Men that claim to lose sensitivity after circumcision I will almost guarantee you that they were done "low". Just think about it, the inner foreskin is sensitive whether you have foreskin or not, so if you were to remove that and replace it with the outer shaft skin then of course its not going to be the same sensitivity. The outside of the foreskin is not the part that feels good, so when its done like that the inner skin is replaced with the outer skin.

This was a big factor in my research before I talked with my urologist. I made sure to get it done high/tight and I'm still pleased with the result many years later. I'm not any expert in how circumcisions are actually done, but I do believe all standard adult circs are done by removing a "strip" or "ring" of skin, then rejoining the two ends with sutures. I have read about many guys now getting it done with clapping devices that don't require sutures, but apparently there is more aftercare. I have no experience in that so I'll let someone else who has had it done that way explain it better (seems to me this is the same method they use on infants). I'm actually really intrigued by that method, and if I could go back in time I might have brought it up with my doctor.

Since you are considering and wondering about sensitivity, I will try to share my honest experience. Getting it done with inner foreskin retained its very much like how it is when your foreskin is retracted. The glans do get used to exposure but I'm not sure if I would go as far as to say desensitized. I do remember when I used to take showers the water hitting the glans would tingle, but now it is very much normal and nothing worth noting. Again, speaking for myself, I don't think anything really changes pre/post circumcision. Many would claim its a world of difference, either much better or worse, but from what I've noticed by reading many other men's accounts over the years, almost everyone says there is no big difference and not diminishing in any way.

Another thing to consider is the option to keep or remove your frenulum. I believe if you remove the frenulum you are able to get a much higher cut, and in my opinion it looks better. Another thing I was concerned about was the veins in the foreskin/shaft, and I have no way to explain what really happens but everything seems to re-route in a natural way. Just a theory, but instead of blood flow going to the foreskin, after circumcision more blood flow goes to the actual shaft.

I hope this helps. If you have other questions ask away.
