Let me start by saying that I'm a little surprised that there isn't a dedicated introduction forum or thread.
As I said in another post, I'm in my early 50s and currently uncircumcised. I spoke a bit about my first encounter with a circumcised penis, and the forcible retraction of my own foreskin at a fairly early age.
Moving substantially forward, I would say that I've wanted to be circumcised for over 20 years. For most of my youth, I was pretty happy being intact, but the more cut penises I saw in life and in porn, the more I wanted my own foreskin removed. I'm sure many of my intact fellows can appreciate the various challenges however of finally taking the step.
It is a difficult thing to broach with a significant other, especially without some other reason.
In the latter part of 2017 I finally got the other reason I'd been looking for. Ever since I was 18 or so, I've had periodic bouts of balanitis and balanoposthitis. For many years, these were pretty mild, resulting in minor irritation for a week or so. Lately, these occurrences have become more frequent, longer lasting, and more severe. I spoke to my GP and a urologist, and both encouraged circumcision.
I finally spoke to my wife and told her what they had said and that I agreed that it was the correct decision.
It was with a great deal of relief that I finally made the appointment to be circumcised, and at this point I'm just counting the days. I'm going to a clinic that specializes in circumcision, and I've decided on a medium-high, tight cut with a frenectomy.
All in all, I cannot wait til C-day!
